Speaking at the Now & England conference hosted by the Robert Scruton Legacy Foundation, Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick became the first Member of Parliament to publicly identify as an Anglofuturist.
In his address, Jenrick stated: "I am what you might describe as an Anglofuturist."
The setting was fitting. Scruton's lifelong work on Englishness, belonging, and the value of inherited culture provides a natural intellectual foundation for Anglofuturism- the idea that a distinct civilisational inheritance is not a constraint on progress but the platform for it. A conference held in his legacy was an apt place for the term to make its parliamentary debut.
